Antique Cleaning Tips

Having antique in our house is everybody's dream.

There are different ways to clean antiques depending whether it is made of wood, clay, metal, ceramic or clothes.

For wood, clay and metal - the best way is to wipe the pieces with dry cloth made of cotton. It is best to apply wax once a month for wood antiques to preserve the wood. But make sure to do it very thinly as it might change the patina of the antique.

More Fish for Fish Tank

I heard from our househelper in Manila that 3 fishes have died today. I immediately informed the kids and they were all upset. We will be going back to Manila in 2 days and hope by then we could visit Cartimar before classes start so we can nurture, re-decorate, clean the big fish tank.

This is going to be a bonding moments with the kids. It is important for us parents to introduce all kinds of animals to the kids. My kids are somehow scared of living creatures so we introduce to them one step at a time.

So have you been to Cartimar? I went there a couple of years ago and I dont know how it looks like now? But one thing I know, they always have good fish!

Living Room Makeover

Its been a while since I long for a new sala set. I used to have a set with cushion but with kids playing with it, it didnt last long. Then we shifted to wooden chairs which we import from Indonesia, it is still there but I now want to replace it with a decent sofa set or sala set. Probably made of leather or hard wood.

Do you know any store in Manila which sells good quality products at reasonable price? That would be a help! I saw one at Aristocrat at Paragon Plaza in Mandaluyong but its kind of pricey for me. I have to save and save and save more! The bank account is already drained after 2 weeks of travel with my family.

Need to get more online jobs so I can sustain my wishlist for a living room makeover. Maybe New Year Wishlist?

Typical Munich Houses

During my last travel to Germany, I took a hundred photos of different subject. The country has so much to offer in almost all aspect such as modern technology, farm, house, cars, churches, appliances, you name it.. they got it! And most of the time, invented it!

One of the photos I collected are some typical Munich houses which I proudly say that I saw it in my own eyes. Even stepped on it while I was there.

These houses could be called an antique house as it serve and pass on from generations to generations. They always renovate in its original function and materials.

This is one of the trait I admired from the Germans. They always like to preserve all old structures.

I still have more photos of the houses but the internet connection here is very slow and taking ages to load a single photo.
